Licensed Chiropractor, Dr. Brian Woywood serves Northeast San Antonio from his office in Live Oak, near Universal City.

A 1980 graduate of Jack C. Hays High School in Buda, Texas, Dr. Woywood studied music at Southwestern University. He was the principal tubist in both the symphonic band and the orchestra and was a trombonist in the jazz band. He transferred to Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) to continue his music studies. In 1985, he moved to Dallas to pursue his education in chiropractic at Parker University. While in Dallas, he worked as a professional musician playing bass guitar in musicals at Theatre Three, Dallas Repertory Theater and numerous community theaters. The numerous shows he played included The Man of La Mancha, Birds of Paradise, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Six Women with Brain Death. He also performed with the touring vocal group RSVP and played three seasons with the Dallas Summer Musicals Guild.

At Parker University he joined the Delta Sigma Chi fraternity, the oldest professional fraternity in existence, was active in the Student American Chiropractic Association and formed the Parker Chapter of the Student Texas Chiropractic Association. Excelling in his studies he passed the required National and Texas State Board exams achieving the highest score in his group of examinees for the State Board.

Since graduation in 1989 his postgraduate studies have included certifications in electromyography, manipulation under anesthesia, spinal corrective therapy and clinical nutrition.

As chairman of the board of the Randolph Metrocom Chamber of Commerce he oversaw the completion of a transition to a mobile chamber and the rebranding of the institution to the more inclusive name Tri-County Chamber of Commerce. He has been serving church music ministry at various churches since 1995. Currently, as a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, he serves on the governing board. In the Recovery at San Antonio service held by that church, he is the bassist in the band and assists in leading worship and selecting songs. As a member of Optimists International he helped form the Metrocom Optimist Club.

He is currently a Designated Doctor for the Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers Compensation and travels the state examining injured workers to help the Division settle disputes between the workers and the insurance companies.

He has four adult children (Michael, Emily, Geoffrey and Alex), five grandchildren (William, Benjamin, Levi, Fhiona and Annabelle), two dogs (Archer and Hoshi) and two cats (Lokai and Tribbles). His hobbies include music, model railroading, camping, hiking, hunting, fishing and restoring cars.
